Saltine Bars

I think I prefer this spin on magic bars, or 7 layer bars over the originals which usually call for a graham cracker crust. Breaking up the crackers with your hands instead of a blender or processor is best. You want a few big chunks, not fine crumbs.

Saltine Bars
1/2 C butter, melted
1 C (about one sleeve) crushed saltine crackers
1/2 C coconut
3/4 C chocolate chips
1/2 C chopped nuts
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

Preheat oven to 350. Mix the butter with the crackers and spread in a square baking dish. Layer coconut, chocolate chips and nuts and top with sweetened condensed milk. Bake for about 20 minutes or so, until the edges are browned and the middle looks set. Cool before slicing.
